Kebyar Duduk Dance (Sitting Down Kebyar) choreographed by I Nyoman Mario. He presented the dance
for the first time in 1952. He combined the strong movement of Kebyar and the fluidity of Legong. This dance emphasizes
the movement of the upper body, the hands, and the face expressions and illuminates the movement of the legs all together
as the dancer is squatting the whole time.

A modern dance choreographed by I Mario in 1952. It has become a popular addition to the repertoire of dances in
a Legong performance. This dance potrayes bumblebees swaying around in the garden.

Taruna Jaya Dance - dancer: Cynthia Laksawana
This “kebyar” style dance originated from the Northern part of Bali
and was created in the 50s. The dance was originally choreographed by Wayan Wandres and then later modified
by Gde Manik. The dance has meaning of the “energy of youth” and it describes the many moods
of a youth, before it finds the harmony and peace of mind at later stage of life. This dance requires energy
for the numerous changes in speed, dynamics and mood that the dancer must capture. The dance is usually
danced by a female or two in male style costumes.
Semara Wisaya Dance - Semara Wisaya was choreographed in 2003 by I Nyoman Catra and Desak Made Suarti Laksmi
in Holy Cross College Worchester, MA. The music was composed by Dewa Alit. Semara Wisaya potrayed the three aspects
of love, Godly, human, and animal. The first part of dance starts with the two dancers back to back like Hindu Goddess.
The second part, the dance is potrayed by more humanly movement. Last part of the dance, the pair use fans and move
like birds flirting with each other.
